Hello and Welcome to Altertunes.

Here in short we will explain, how efficiently you can take full advantage of the services provided by Altertunes. In this first section we start with, showing how a home page for a registered user looks like.

There will be 3 Sub-Sections on your home page:

1. Left Panel containing the search box, where you query your artist
2. Center Panel containing your Messages, Friends List etc
3. Right Panel containing Alterplayer - the mp3 player playing your songs

After you register you will be taken straight to your home page. As on 13th April, 2008 your home page will look like this:

Apart from registered user profile picture, the Left Panel consists of following features:

1. Search Box
2. My Top Searches
3. My Playlists
4. My Bookmarks

Shown above is the left panel in all its different modes.

Hence if you are really confused over your artist name, just type in the first few characters and Altertunes will help you find the correct artist.

Further Altertunes even help you with your spelling mistakes. For eg. if you happens to type Mettallica instead of Metallica, Altertunes will automatically detect the same and take you to your artist.

Above is how your home page will look like, on searching Atif Aslam.

In the right panel you have the playlist for Atif Aslam being populated, while in the middle panel you have list of similar artists, who are musically similar to Atif Aslam.

Share, Dedicate a song or playlist

Have you ever wanted to tell a friend about a really great song you came across on Altertunes, or ever thought about of dedicating a song to one of your friends, family and colleagues.

Now you can do those things on Altertunes using the Share menu. This means you can now share a song with your friend, and enjoy it together at the same time.

Make and share playlists

At Altertunes we give emphasis on helping our users manage their music online. This includes keeping a track of users search history and displaying the Top Searched Artists, Providing Playlist creation and management, and Allowing bookmarks of their favorite artists.

Create a playlist by visiting the Manage playlists section. After you create a playlist, you will get an option click to add current playing song to: just above the Alterplayer on your home page. Choose a playlist from the drop down list, and click to add current playing song to the playlist.

Further you can share your playlists with your other friends using the Share menu.
